This is one of the most popular kale varieties because of its attractive appearance. Unlike other kales that can have blistered leaves or curly leaves, the leaves of Lacinato are delicately laved around the edges.

Plants are hardy and like to mature during cool weather. Seed may be direct-sown several weeks before the last expected frost date in a sunny location with good drainage. Alternatively, start seed indoors to obtain 4 week old transplants.
