This slicing variety is somewhat of a novelty. It is ribbed, has light green skin and can grow up to 3ft long. Best harvested between 12 - 15 inches (30cm - 38cm) long when the fruit is most flavourful. Delicious fresh or sliced in salads. This warm-weather vegetable is easy to grow and is a very vigorous grower. Provide a strong trellis for support.

Cucumbers grow best in rich, warm, sandy loam. Sow when the danger of frost has passed and the soil is at least 18C. Cooler soils reduce germination or seeds rot.
